Did you know the grass isn’t always greener on the other side? Sometimes it’s purple! This week we’ve been focusing on how to create fun play environments for kids. We’ve already come up with some games and shown you how artificial grass can look around a play area, so now it’s time to tell you about coloured grass!

So what’s the appeal of coloured grass?

Dynamic play environments

Visual stimulation is a very important part of learning, and you can create all sorts of environments with coloured grass. Blue grass is great for creating a sea world, grey can be used for the moon and yellow for the desert! If you want your kids to use their imagination then coloured grass can be used as a starting point for all sorts of adventures.

Transform disused areas

Artificial grass can be laid almost anywhere, and is a softer alternative to concrete. If you have a balcony or roof area that could be used for extra space then artificial grass could be the ideal surface. With coloured grass there’s an opportunity to transform a place into somewhere unique, or brighten up a place that has been neglected in the past.

The same durability and feel

All our coloured grasses are made from 100% polyethylene, this is a very soft plastic which makes it ideal for use in kids’ areas.  It has a guarantee of 10 years and is stabilised against UV fading, which means it will retain its colour even outside in the sun.

The proportion of people that choose coloured grass is small compared to those who want a traditional green back garden, usually because the realistic look of artificial grass is one of the main reasons people buy it! But it can make a big impact in a school, nursery, or play area where kids learn and play together. If you have a play area you think could be improved by installing coloured grass then give us a call!
