The weather in Britain is notoriously wet, with April being a particularly rainy month. Water collects on the surface of a natural lawn usually because the soil has a high clay content or because the soil is too compact. Without aeration the water cannot permeate into the ground below, and so becomes waterlogged. Permeable layers of limestone aggregate and grano dust are installed below the grass to ensure that water can drain away effectively from the surface.

You may be thinking, how does the water travel through the grass into the base below? There are actually many small holes across the backing of the grass which allows water to pass through. These holes aren’t visible when looking through the tufts, so you can’t even tell they’re there!
3. The grass will stay green and lush.
Water doesn’t affect the growth of fake grass, because it’s fake! That means you don’t have dead patches, large mossy patches, or areas of poor coverage. Which is great if you’re fed up of mud being traipsed into the house by your furry friends or your children. Artificial grass is always green and even, all year round.
