Gardens can end up looking a little sad in the winter period. The vibrancy of your summer flowers have gone, the weathers a bit unpredictable and the lawns looking a bit drab. Your garden can be the last place you want to spend any time. If you’ve got active kids or pets that love to go outside, there are a few simple ways to brighten up your garden and make it a great place to relax and entertain!
Take a look and see if your garden could be improved with these additions…

Outdoor Lighting

The sun goes down much earlier in the winter, and gardens can look a little drab in the dark! Investing in dynamic outdoor lighting can give you more opportunity to use your garden in winter for relaxing or entertaining. And the lighting doesn’t have to be white; coloured lights can bring a bit of joy to your garden and make it a fun atmosphere for the kids. Bringing in some colour

There are a few ways you can bring in some colour to your garden. One way is to buy some brightly coloured plant pots, invest in some brightly coloured winter plants, or even give a fence a lick of paint. More and more people are choosing to paint their fences in non-traditional colours. Just think of them like walls, they don’t have to be brown!

Fake grass

If your lawn turns into a mud bath during the winter period, or the grass struggles to cope in the shade and rain then artificial grass can really make a difference to your garden. It’s a great for kids and pets that want to play outside, offering a soft but durable surface throughout the year. And stays green in all weathers!

Attract some wildlife

One way to brighten up your garden is to bring some extra life to the place. A great way to do that is by creating a bird box or putting in a birdbath. You could paint one in a jazzy colour to bring some extra oomph to the garden or decorate your birdbath with some extra flowers. Snuggle up

Turn your summer garden into a winter one and hang some fairy lights from a parasol. Add some blankets and pillows to your garden furniture to make the place a bit more cozy. If you’ve got a patio, maybe invest in a little outdoor wood burner, there are some really attractive vintage ones that are great to snuggle round.
