We’ve got some egg-celent games for you to play this Easter and they’re perfect for the whole family. For those who might be worried about sugar overload, some of them don’t even involve chocolate!

Easter Egg Hunt

Kids all over the world take part in Easter egg hunts, with one particularly famous hunt taking place in the White House Garden. It’s truly a game the whole family can get involved with, and you’ll be surprised to find how competitive it can get when there’s chocolate involved!

Egg Painting

Another fun idea is to decorate chocolate eggs with icing and sweets. Or if you’re not into chocolate, maybe set up more of a craft challenge. Kids and adults alike enjoy a spot of painting. It’s a good idea to empty the egg first though! You do that by blowing it out. Take a needle and make a small hole in the fat end, and wiggle it around a bit so you can break the yolk. Then poke a hole in the thinner end. Then it’s just a case of blowing into the small hole and the contents will come out the other end.

Hairy Eggs

Who else did this when they were at school? Hard boil an egg and carefully cut off the top. Then enjoy the egg inside, making sure you’re cleaning out the egg shell of its contents. Once the shell is dried out, draw a face on it and pop some damp cotton wool inside along with some cress seeds. After a few days you’ll start to see the seeds sprout, and you’ll be able to enjoy a lovely egg and cress sandwich!

Egg and spoon race

An absolute classic! Set up a race and see who can transport their egg in one piece from one end to another! And if you really want to make it difficult then why not involve some blindfolds!

Egg Toss

This can be a bit of a tricky one depending on how good you are at catching! The aim is simply to toss an egg to the other person without letting it fall. You can make it harder by undertaking an obstacle course at the same time or running at the same time.
