World’s longest interlocking block bridge at Rochester Cathedral
It’s not every day you can say you’re involved in a record breaker, but Trulawn Kent helped Rochester Cathedral host the world’s longest interlocking block bridge this Summer!
More than 200,000 bricks have been used to create the centrepiece of Rochester Cathedral‘s Summer activities, which impressively sits within the nave of the Cathedral for 5 weeks.
The project was organised by the Rochester Bridge Trust who hope to engage the local community with civil engineering in a way that is accessible to children and adults alike.
In order for an event like this to go ahead in a historic building it’s important to protect the flooring in anticipation of higher footfall and potentially heavy displays. The Trust chose Trulawn Kent to lay 272sqm of Trulawn Harmony for the area which is a 30mm, forest green grass. Not only does it create a soft surface but also compliments the outdoor setting of the bridge. Harmony is made from recycled plastic, with a plastic that could also be recycled and was specifically chosen to suit a lower a carbon footprint policy.
We’re able to provide and install grass for more than gardens, if you have an Event or Exhibition like this one at Rochester Cathedral you’d like a quote for then get in touch today!
