Our Old Ale and Coffee House Pub garden artificial grass installation completely transformed the outside area. The Trulawn Regal made this Salisbury pub more welcoming and cosy, compared to the old patio.
What was once a drab, tarmac area has been transformed into somewhere actually resembling a garden! It is also much more inviting and far better reflects the friendly, fun character of the pub and restaurant.
This is what we call a ‘lay only’ situation where there is no excavation and ground works required. As the grass is going to be laid on an existing concrete surface that drains water you do not need to install the typical layers of aggregate or sand underneath. That does not mean it can be slapped on and hey presto though!
In order to comply with safety measures the grass must be securely fixed down, so that it does not move. Being a public area this is especially important, as there will be lots of people using it. Where the grass meets the tarmac we have also installed a rubber edging. This alleviates the transition between surfaces to help prevent trip hazards. No one likes spilling their beer on the way to the tables!
Trulawn Regal is a dense grass that is great for high traffic social areas like a pub or restaurant. It is also a tidy length at 32mm which is quite manageable for upkeep. As there are heavy tables on the grass, we would recommend moving these every now and again to help rejuvenate the pile underneath.
