Laying artificial grass on concrete play space
This school was interested in laying artificial grass on concrete to make the space safer for the children to use and to revitalise some of their outdoor areas. We’re able to lay on top of concrete, tarmac and wet pour or in place of existing turf for a range of versatile solutions.
For this project we’ve filled in some of the dropped areas with our grano sub-base materials to make the surface even. It’s important for the longevity of the grass and quality of the fit that your existing surface is stable before you lay your grass so that you can be confident that you can secure it properly. In cases where you are laying on top of concrete you may also like to use a foam underlay to add an extra layer of softness.
The grass chosen for the area is Trulawn Trail in a green and blue option. With a coiled pile this is hard-wearing and ideal for high-footfall areas. As you can see we’re able to cut and fit multiple colours together to create designs for the pupils to follow or engage with.
