As you are probably aware this year marks the centenary of the end of the First World War. Many events have taken place on a national scale across Great Britain to help remember those who lost their lives in one of the most brutal conflicts in modern history.

What you may not be aware is that Trulawn HQ has its own military connection. We are based in Sandhurst which is not only the location of a Royal Military Academy, but just a stone’s throw away from Aldershot, known colloquially as the ‘Home of the British Army’.

It is with great pride that we are able to contribute to a horticultural event organised in tribute to the local men and women of Tilehurst and the surrounding area involved in the First World War.

‘Flanders’ Field: A Garden of Remembrance’ is a special floral event organised by St Mary Magdalen Church in Tilehurst from the 20th-22nd July to reflect and remember those who fought and died in the First World War.

The church will be transformed with floral compositions marking four key conflicts of the four year war, with services of reflection and local history interwoven in the event, and support and refreshment stalls hosted by the Tilehurst Branch of the Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes.

Find more information at their website, with key event details below. They welcome your  attendance so please go along if you are interested in military, local history, pay your respects or simply enjoy some floral arrangements.

We hope to have some pictures from the event to upload afterwards so keep an eye out for more.
