Artificial Grass doesn't fade from sunlight

Tidy gardens

Neat and tidy are the words to live by! That means thinning out overgrown areas, creating boundaries and getting rid of unnecessary items. A dodgy lawn can be a big source of aggravation which artificial grass can easily solve, as well as staying tidy all year round.

The minimalist Nordic style is very much a trend for outside as well as in, with whitewashed wood and clean materials a simple style to aspire to. Add accents of fake fur and candles to warm up cold nights.

White flowers in containers

Containers

In an effort to strip back clutter, containers are predicted to be even more popular among domestic gardeners. Rather than have a messy bed of lots of little plants, containers offer a neater alternative.

If you’ve got limited space then a collection of potted plants can offer a bit of extra greenery. If you need something easy to look after, succulents come in all different colours and are relatively simple to care for.

Golden flower

Winning gold

Gold accents are usually reserved for interiors, but it’s a colour you might also be seeing in gardens next year. Metallics can be incorporated through furniture and features, but also through plant colourings. If you end up investing in some containers it’s a perfect opportunity to also get on the metallic trend. Take a look at Pantone’s Colour Report for Spring 2017 for more colour inspiration.

Seedlings in tray

Clean living

Grow your own is still a huge trend in gardening, with people coming up with increasingly inventive ways to grow things to eat in small or unlikely places. We were involved in an interesting installation this year at an urban farm, which showed that that there are many ways to green up your life in unusual spaces!

And what about cooking that food? Well, barbecuing and outdoor kitchens are just as popular as ever, with stylish equipment becoming more readily available and easy to use.

Tree shade

Shady situations

People are more health conscious than ever these days. Even in British weather it is important not to spend too long in the sun without protection. That’s why there may be a rise in trees and shaded sanctuaries found in modern gardens. The only downside is, too much shade can hinder the growth of grass or other plants underneath. If that is the case and the area has become patchy or muddy, then there is always artificial grass!

Wild poppies

A different kind of lawn

Many people are opting to try something different to the natural, classic lawn in an effort to cut down on fertilisers and pesticides. This has seen a rise in meadow mixes and wildflower grass combinations, however, these are not ideal for children to use and play on. Artificial grass is certainly useful in this situation, if you want your garden to remain functional for the kids.

Style mix up

Don’t be afraid to mix together different styles. Coherence doesn’t just mean everything being the same, you can combine old and new, country and urban, large and small, indoors and outdoors.

There are lots of interesting ways to combine different traditional aspects of gardening like gravel and grass but with a more modern twist. For example artificial grass can be cut into all sorts of shapes if you have an unusual design in mind.

How many of these do you think you’ll be incorporating into your garden for 2017? If you think you might want a clean and tidy lawn then consider Trulawn artificial grass!
