We all know that word of mouth is a good way of getting extra sales. And if you’ve already secured an installation and complete it to a high standard you’re already half way there. So here’s a little tip about maximising word of mouth potential in the surrounding area.
After the installation is complete and you are clearing up the area, you might want to just throw your off-cuts into the skip. Remember, neighbours like to look over each other’s fences from time to time and there is such a thing as ‘keeping up with the Jones’’. And even if they’re not looking over the fence, it’s likely they will have seen your vehicle.
Why not cut the off-cut into smaller pieces and attach a business card to the back of the grass indicating you have just installed in the area? Then drop them through the letterboxes of 10 houses either side of the installation before you leave, making sure that those neighbours have your details in case they’re thinking about maybe giving you a call.
This is a simple way of making the most of the materials you have left over from the job as well as spread the word about you and your company. Should anyone follow up on the card, you also have a ready-made example of your work in the first installation completed. Overall the chances of a securing a second sale in the same street are much easier than the first!
