No matter your method of installation – the one thing we all do at the end is give the grass an overall brush to lift the pile. It leaves the lawn looking great, and is a sign to your customer that you are a professional with high standards.
Every single Trulawn team carries a power brush to an installation, to ensure that the grass is left looking the best it possibly can for the customer. The bristles in a power brush spin at a tremendous rate and dig further down into the thatch of the product, raising it up to add more support for the pile of the product.
The grass spends most of its life rolled up until it is installed, so giving it a brush is a good idea to rejuvenate the pile from any storage compaction. With products as luxuriously thick and dense as ours (so much so that they do not require an in-fill) it’s important to ensure they look top notch. And if your customer is a fan of the striped lawn look, a power brush is the perfect way to achieve this.
Our teams use the STIHL KM 100 R Combi Engines (RRP £500) with the KB-KM Bristle Brush- Kombi Tool (RRP £235) attachment. This certainly isn’t cheap but for those who are installing regularly, on a weekly or daily basis, then a purchase is well worth the investment. It’s absolutely possible to use a stiff bristle yard brush to do the same job, but a Combi Engine is a far less labour intensive option, plus there are other attachments available to buy. If you’re an occasional installer then they can also be hired, which may be a good idea if you’re going to be working on a large area.
