When deciding what to write about in this week’s post I considered all that was Valentine’s related, but came to the conclusion that any link between artificial grass and romance would be tenuous to say the least. So this week’s post is dedicated to our hard working team of artificial grass installers – who are at the heart (!) of our business. We’re always banging on about the high quality of work they do… but it’s not just us, all our customers think they’re great too. The only complaint we get is (in the words of one recent happy customer) “They sure drink a lot of tea and coffee!”
So you can see for yourself what a lovely bunch they are we thought we’d put Terry the team leader under the spotlight Parkinson style.
How long have you been with Trulawn?
“Two and a half years”
Describe yourself in three words?
“Easygoing, hard working and a generally lovely guy (sometimes three words just isn’t enough)”
What are your hobbies, interests and passions…?
“Football, football and Arsenal football club”
What’s the key to a perfect artificial grass installation?
“It’s all in the prep work… the lawn is only as good as the base it’s laid on.”
What the best part of being a Trulawn installer?
“Working outside in the fresh air all day and also the way we can completely transform the look of a garden in a matter of days.
“New gardens bring new challenges – so no two jobs are the same which keeps it interesting. I like a bit of a challenge so for me the most exciting jobs are the tricky ones where we have to fit artificial grass around trees, play equipment or over hills and mounds.”
Patio or Decking?
“I’ve got decking in my garden – it’s perfect for relaxing on at the end of a hard day with a cold beer. As long as you treat it properly it’s low maintenance too, but you need to give it a bit of TLC every year with a bit of decking treatment.”
What’s your catchphrase when you’re at work?
“Make mine a tea with two and a chocolate digestive”
Do you have artificial grass in your own garden?
“No not yet, I’m too busy installing other people’s lawns to do my own, but as soon as I have a mo I will. I’ll be going for Trulawn Luxury because it looks so realistic and feels good under foot too.”
English country garden or contemporary chic?
“I’m quite traditional so I prefer English country style gardens.”
And final question, how do you keep warm in the winter when you’re working outside?
“Thermals, keeping busy and plenty of tea with chocolate digestives!”
