Front gardens are the first thing someone sees when they come to your house but we often forget to give them any love: back gardens seem to get all the attention! We love re-invention here at Trulawn Towers so we’ve come up with five ways to improve your forgotten front garden.
1. Define your paths and driveways.
Areas around paths and driveways can become worn thin through use as well as be difficult to mow. You might want to tidy your front up by giving them more definition. Artificial grass is a great low maintenance way of redefining borders as well as giving you a pristine front lawn. A healthy looking lawn is a good way to make a positive first impression – our fake turf is so realistic looking some people won’t even be able to tell!
2. Plant fragrant flowers
Choose flowers with a scent so that visitors are given the double whammy of both sight and smell. It’s a great way to leave your guests with a positive memory on entering and leaving. Popular ones to choose from are lavender, roses, honeysuckle, wisteria and cherry blossom.
3. Use bold accents in small spaces.
If you don’t have much space for beds or planting, a few pots on the doorstep or hanging baskets can add a welcome pop of colour and interest. A small tree on either side of the door can create a focal point through symmetry, drawing the eye to the entrance of your home.
4. Fences and gates can be more than just functional.
Fences and gates divide properties but they also reveal a lot about a garden. Give them a coat of paint to give them a makeover or switch them for a different design to give your front garden a bit more character.
5. Personalise your front door.
If your house is part of an estate or a terrace, chances are it can look almost identical to the one next to it. By painting your door a different colour, buying different house numbers, or having a name plaque created you can give your house that personal touch.
