Lawns are usually the focal point of a garden and artificial grass is an easy, fuss free way to get a beautiful lawn all year round.

If after installing your Trulawn, you think maybe the rest of the garden could do with a pick me up, we’ve got five simple tips to make any garden look tip-top. And the great thing is, without having to worry about your lawn you’ll have lots of time to do so!

1. Sweep your steps and patio

Just like a Trulawn, giving your steps or patio a brush will keep them looking newer for longer. A sweep every now of excess leaves and debris will stop the build of extra dirt which can affect the colour of your stones and discourage weeds from appearing in cracks. If they look like they could do with a bit of an extra clean, it might be worth washing them with a brush and water.

2. Give your fence a face lift

Unless your fence gets blown over in a gale storm it can sometimes escape your notice. After a fair few years your fence can look a little ragged, but it’s easily fixed with a lick of paint. If you can spare a bit of time, it’s a cheap way to give your garden a makeover. The top two brands in the UK are Ronseal and Cuprinol but lots of DIY stores do their own versions for less. Remember to put down a sheet around the edges if you’ve got fake grass, this will catch any stray drops of paint.

3. Inject some colour

Add a bold coloured flower or a pot with a pattern. One or two splashes of colour can add a bit of extra life to a garden without requiring too much effort. You can get a pot of brightly coloured purple violets for as little as £2.99 from local garden centres, or you could add a coloured table or chair.

4. Clear away unnecessary clutter

If you’ve got tools hanging out by the side of the wall or kids toys all over the place, get rid of the stuff you don’t need and tidy away the stuff you do. If you’ve got one, this is what sheds were made for! A garden is a bit like an extra room, you wouldn’t leave your paintbrush and ladder in your hallway so do the same for your garden.

5. Define your borders

Another way of giving your garden a little lift is by edging out your borders. It can give your garden structure, tightening up areas where plants are looking a bit loose and can frame your lawn. There are a variety of styles available and can start from under £5 per metre. A lot of independent companies that specialize in lawn edging but it is also available in stores like Wickes, B&Q, Homebase, Wilkos and Argos.
