Artificial grass can completely change the way you use your garden, but it’s always best to be fully informed before you make such a big commitment. Here are five key questions to ask yourself before getting a quote or having artificial grass installed…
Why are you getting the artificial grass?
Is it for the kids, pets, to save time, because your drainage is poor, or maybe you need it because you have mobility issues?
There are a whole host of reasons why you might be considering artificial grass, so keep that in mind when talking to a surveyor and looking at grass options. Each of our grasses is slightly different, and one may be more suitable for your needs than another. It’s always worth asking for a recommendation – our team are very knowledgeable and will be happy to help!
Do you know what artificial grass installation involves?
You don’t want to be in a position where you are having major garden work completed by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing, or unwittingly paying extra for unnecessary work. It’s a good idea to look up the process behind an artificial grass installation from a range of sources so you know what will be happening to your garden.

Does the product or installation have any sort of guarantee on it?
If longevity is one of the main reasons you want artificial grass then make sure you buy a product that will last! All of our grass products have an 8 or 10 year minimum warranty against UV fading, rot and degradation.
And, if the Trulawn in-house team install your lawn you also have a 2-year warranty on the works carried out.
It’s important to check what guarantee the grass product and installation method you chose has before making any decisions.
Are there any other features you want installed in your garden?
If you are overhauling your entire garden, or having other surfaces such as decking and paving installed, then it is a good idea to have these done first.
Artificial grass is best left as the finishing touch as it is cut to fit the specific area you are having covered. Putting in paving or decking first means you don’t have to take your grass up and potentially damage your beautiful new artificial lawn.
When do you want it installed?
There’s really no ‘ideal’ time to install artificial grass as it is a job that can be carried out at any time, throughout the year. Spring tends to be the highest peak time for artificial grass installations so if this is when you’re considering, make sure you enquire nice and early! That way you’ve got the best chance of arranging the most convenient time for your lawn to be installed!
