To achieve the highest standard of appearance and ensure your artificial grass maximises its life span –a quality installation is essential.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our installations and there are 2 key factors that distinguish us from some of our competitors.
Preparation of the base is key to the look and stability of the grass for years to come, which is why Trulawn when required will lay a base of aggregate in addition to sharp sand – many others only lay a base of sharp sand.
Additionally we will remove all the existing sod and waste – many of our competitors will ask you to hire a skip and of course you have to pay for it – we will include this in our price!
-

Step 1
All the existing grass is removed using an industrial turf cutter. All weeds, vegetation and large stones are removed. If completing the installation ourselves we will be responsible for removal of all waste from the site. Weed killer will be also be applied at this stage.
-

Step 2
The next stage is to compact the base. We infill the area with sharp sand, spreading evenly over the surface. To ensure a smooth result we screed and finally the area is compacted with a compacting plate.
-

Step 3
The area is then covered with a geo-textile membrane to prevent future growth of weeds. This is carefully cut to size at the edges. If using a wooden framed border and/or galvanized pins these will be put in place at this stage.
-

Step 4
The artificial grass is then carefully rolled into position and we ensure that it overlaps at edging allowing us to carefully trim the edges for a great looking professional finish.
-

Step 5
Jointing may be necessary if using more than one piece of carpet. The grass is carefully aligned by folding back the two edges where making a join and applying jointing tape (smooth side down) and applying adhesive. We ensure the pile runs in the same direction and carefully butt the pieces together ensuring no fibres are caught in the adhesive.
-

Step 6
The final part of the installation process involves dressing with kiln dried sand. This will aid drainage and ensures the pile stays in an upright position. The sand is carefully brushed in after applying in even layers; this process should be carried out immediately after laying the grass in dry weather.
